From plant to baskets.
The course is mainly practical nature.
The art of weaving is one of the most ancient practices of man: intertwining branches and other plant fibers can create containers incredibly robust, lightweight and durable.
- Recognition, selection, preparation of materials
Willow, olive, clematis, reeds, dogwood, elm ... Recognize plants and know how to play and collect in the right season to create beautiful shades.
- The plot
The floor, walls, edges and handles. With a few techniques, tricks and precautions (that will come with experience) everyone will take home the baskets created.
- Examples of techniques and traditional baskets
You will learn to recognize materials and features that make a typical basket.
- Why learn to make baskets in 2015?
To find an alternative to the baskets that are now in stores for a few Euros that are not able to tell us almost nothing about their history and the hands that made them. In an era dominated by consumerism, learn how to make an object by hand without buying anything means resume deep bonds between man, the land and its traditions. Learn about plants and seasons is enough to create objects that last 50 years (in spite of the plastic).
